We’re seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join a dynamic commercial organisation on a 6 month contract. You’ll be hands-on in applied AI and full-stack software engineering, delivering production-ready AI solutions that transform operations, enhance customer experiences, and empower teams to perform at their best.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and champion safe, secure, and resilient AI systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, Operations) to deliver integrated AI solutions.
  • Drive LLMOps/AgentOps: prompt/config management, evaluation suites, safety/red-teaming, human-in-the-loop controls.
  • Build data pipelines for AI solutions: ingestion, embeddings, retrieval, caching, and quality controls.
  • Orchestrate safe rollouts including canary releases, feature flags, and controlled exposure.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence, ethics, and continuous learning.
  • Communicate architecture decisions, technical concepts, and delivery updates to non-technical stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Data Science (or equivalent applied experience).
  • 3+ years developing production-grade AI systems, with hands-on experience in LLMs and agentic systems (RAG, tool/function calling, planning).
  • Python, FastAPI / FastMCP, React + TypeScript.
  • Databricks, pgvector, AWS Cognitive Search (or equivalents).
  • Knowledge of embeddings, vector databases, agent-based architectures, and MLOps/LLMOps patterns.
  • Experience in production deployments on AWS and Databricks (incl. MLflow/Mosaic).
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, RAG systems, and full-stack AI development
  • Strong understanding of security, privacy, and observability best practices.
  • Agile delivery experience, roadmap ownership, estimation, and stakeholder communication.
