
2x Senior Communications and Engagement Officer
Talent International is currently recruiting for a 2x Senior Communications and Engagement Officer and 1x Communications and Engagement Officer to work for the NSW Government, based in Sydney/Newcastle. The position is an 8-month contract role with the possibility of extension and pays between $600 to $650 per day + Super and $550 to $600 per day + Super, respectively.
8 hours per day and 40 hours per week
Key accountabilities and deliverables of the role
- Support the development and implementation of communications plans for the client’s project.
- Work with the project teams across the client to ensure development of collateral is strategic, fit for purpose and consistent across the client.
- Support engagement activities with landowners, community stakeholders, Aboriginal stakeholders, local Councils and MPs.
- Coordinate a range of media activities in partnership with the Community Engagement and Media team to provide effective and timely media engagement. This may include marketing, branding and campaigns, website, social media, media relations and issues management to strengthen the profile of the client.
- Ministerial support, including talking points, contentious issues briefs and events. Ensure that ministerial requests are prioritised within the team and that output is in plain English and accurately represents the client’s policy position.
Qualifications required:
- Tertiary qualifications in communications or other relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience
Essential skills and Experience:
- Communications and Engagement experience on major linear infrastructure projects in NSW and/or Australia, including through the public exhibition phase.
- Establish and sustain constructive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to improve the effectiveness of communication and collaboration, establish partnerships, foster support, effectively represent the Government and optimise outcomes.
- Draft project documents and collateral, including media releases, speaking points, briefings, posters, letters, fact sheets and reports.
