The Role: This Government Department is seeking a Cyber Security Assessor to join their team and perform security risk assessments using the VPDSS/VPDSF Framework.

The Responsibilities:

  • Perform security risk assessments using the Department’s Risk Management Framework, and cyber security frameworks such as the ISM, and VPDSS.
  • Create security documentation including Security Risk Assessment reports, Security Risk Management Plans {SRMP}, and System Security Plans {SSP}.
  • Provide input into system designs to achieve ‘security by design’ in systems and services.
  • Liaise proactively with System Owners, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to develop risk treatment plans.
  • Audit and report on risk treatments, privileged access, and vulnerability management.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • 5 years proven experience as Cyber Security Assessor or Cyber Security Analyst conducting risk assessments.
  • Ability to create security documentation including Security Risk Assessment reports.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders is needed.
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge of the VPDSS/VPDSF Framework is essential.
  • Prior experience within the Public Sector is essential.
