Talent RISE ended the week with a bang! LinkedIn graciously invited our Talent RISE young people to their office for a Rock Your Profile InDay on Friday 23rd Feb.
Our partner Weave was also in attendance along with young people from our ABCN InRoads Program.
“InDay” which is short for Investment Day is an investment into our young people’s future. The day encountered teaching the young people about the importance of an online presence, how to interact with members and how to showcase their own skills and personality online.
This programme is great for our youth as it’s designed to inspire and motivate them to utilise the tools that are on offer. This provides them exposure into how the world of LinkedIn works and essentially how it can be used to help them grow their network so that they can advance their career aspirations.
We also had LinkedIn’s own Cultural Champions John Paul Ghabriel and Cory Welsh running the Community InDay along with some other fantastic LinkedIn colleagues that helped make the afternoon a great success.
Everyone was incredibly hospitable and made us all feel very welcome. We started with a few icebreaker exercises to get everyone introducing themselves with some fun facts. LinkedIn generously provided the opportunity to photograph our young people for some professional headshots that they can utilise for their profiles.
The interactive part of the session saw our young people really enjoy buddying up with a LinkedIn staff member to either create their profile or update an existing one.
It wouldn’t have been a Rock Your Profile Day without a few little extra’s and LinkedIn definitely delivered with a tour of their funky office which everyone loved.
Our young people had a blast and we can’t thank LinkedIn enough for hosting us for a great informative and fun-filled afternoon.
