Heidi Hawkins from Talent Sydney’s Digital Team takes over the Talent blog and talks about one of her latest Women In Leadership breakfast with Christie Whitehill.
Our latest Women in Leadership breakfast with Christie Whitehill was an inspiring morning. We had an incredible turnout and it was an intimate and conversational style chat that really resonated with a lot of us.
A huge thank you to Christie she is so authentic and engaging and has proved with the right mindset and tech guidance you can make your dreams a reality.
When it comes to igniting entrepreneurial and intrepreneurial mindset Christie explained that it is something the CAN be learnt. For most of her life and especially after school she was of the belief that she just “wasn’t smart enough” and instead of letting this hold her back she used it as motivation and challenged herself to achieve everything she thought was beyond her.
She represents the embodiment of “ordinary” people who can achieve extraordinary things. Christie has kept an positive mindset, said yes to opportunities, worked hard, soaked up knowledge and attended a variety of workshops to find her own path to success.
Her journey has had its up and downs and some major setbacks whilst launching technical platforms as a non tech founder. For instance she had a dating app Fancied that couldn’t compete with Tinder’s popularity and back-end . She has used her setbacks as learning and the motivation to help no tech founder launch tech businesses and to ensure they are not taken advantage of like her.
If you are thinking of launching a tech startup and want to know how to validate your ideas Tech Ready Women will give you a guide that shows the lean start-up way of developing and idea validation. It is super useful and introduces you to building a minimum viable production (mvp) on the lean.
