Talent was delighted to be part of launching the 100% Human at Work at an exclusive event held on Tuesday, 30 May in Sydney. Together with Virgin Unite, The B Team and Perpetual, the gathering kicked off the movement in Australia by bringing together over 80 leaders from 68 of Australia’s leading and most progressive companies.
What is the 100% Human at Work Initiative?
The B Team launched the ‘100% Human at Work Initiative’ because they believe the time has come for business to start thinking of people as human beings and not as resources. Moving away from maximizing profits and profitability to focus on how we can help people achieve their highest potential and purpose and driving positive change in the world. This will naturally positively impact the bottom line.
As part of this initiative Virgin Unite’s B Team has brought together an extraordinary network of organisations around the world who have helped us to shape and identify the elements that define a 100% Human organisation:
This initiative is already well established in North America and Europe so now it’s Australia and New Zealand’s turn to get on board. By 2026 100% Human at Work aims to catalyse one million businesses globally to change the way they work for the better and to help people thrive and realise their full potential.
Why is Talent involved?
Talent is proud to be working with Virgin Unite and Perpetual to build the 100% network across Australia and New Zealand and will be helping to coordinate gatherings and workshops around thought leadership and membership of this movement over the next 12 months. Talent’s Founder and Executive Chairman Richard Earl and APAC CEO Mark Nielsen both spoke at the launch sharing insights as to how Talent embraces Equality, Respect, Purpose, Belonging and Diversity in our own business.
As part of a panel on the Future of Work Richard commented ‘It is time to rethink the way we build and operate businesses in today’s world. All organisations need to clearly define their purpose and role in society with the well being of their workforce taking centre stage’
