Our Client
Our Federal Government client is Australia’s principle revenue collection agency, primarily responsible for administering the federal taxation system and superannuation legislation, as well as managing and delivering a range of Australian government payment and loan schemes.
The Role
Join a high-performing digital team delivering critical web applications for a large, complex environment. In this role you’ll shape secure, scalable and accessible solutions used across multiple business areas, working closely with technical specialists, UX designers and stakeholders to uplift digital services and drive best-practice engineering.
Your duties will include:
- Designing, developing, testing and deploying modern web applications across front-end and back-end
- Building secure, fault-tolerant, scalable and cost-optimised solutions in a cloud environment (AWS)
- Integrating front-end applications with backend APIs and microservices
- Applying secure coding practices and ensuring compliance with government security and authentication standards
- Actively contributing to Agile Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, documentation and collaboration with UX and BA teams
- Sharing knowledge and mentoring team members to uplift engineering capability
Skills and Experience we are looking for:
- 5+ years’ web development experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, .NET, React, Node.js and RESTful APIs
- Hands-on experience containerising and deploying applications to Kubernetes, with strong AWS cloud and DevOps skills
- Solid understanding of web application security, cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity principles
- Background working in large organisations and large-scale cloud deployments, with strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative, open-minded approach and ability to mentor others
- Relevant tertiary qualification in IT/Computer Science (or similar); experience with GenAI web interfaces and Agile/Scrum is highly regarded
