Our client is searching for an experienced consultant to work with one of their key defence clients as a Systems Engineer on a critical program. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a Modernisation project, contributing to the cyber-hardened, integrated, and sustainable mission systems.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the team, Your responsibilities will include:
– Developing and executing a detailed plan for Navy platforms, aligned with the AD514 (Request for Problem resolution) requirements.
– Cultivating strong working relationships with key stakeholders, such as NSG-SPO, ISSC, NI&IWB, etc., for assigned Navy Platforms.
– Facilitating the progression and approval of Request for Problem Resolutions (RPR).
– Collaborating closely with the Installation Manager to ensure timely approval of AD514-1 for designated Navy platforms.
– Working in coordination with the Engineering Manager to meet engineering deliverable timelines.
– Identifying engineering risks, issues, and opportunities for assigned Navy Platforms.
– Providing strategic, specialized, and professional engineering advice.
– Establishing engineering control processes and practices for designated Navy platforms.
– Developing and implementing relevant engineering documentation and presentations for project management.
– Managing costs, including conducting cost analysis on contractor surveys and quotes.
Required Skills and Experience:
– Essential – A relevant tertiary qualification, such as a Bachelor of Engineering.
– Essential – Demonstrated experience working in Defence as a Systems Engineer, with a focus on managing technical aspects of project delivery.
– Essential – Strong knowledge and experience with MHC and LSD platforms.
– Demonstrated experience with Navy AD514 Engineering processes, with a keen attention to detail.
– Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, enabling effective engagement with both internal and external stakeholders and projects.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
– Experience working within the Defence maritime environment.
– Demonstrated experience and knowledge in Defence Capability Lifecycle Projects.
– Military/APS/Contractor experience working with Ship Class SPO’s and ISSC’s.
Key details:
- Monday to Friday business hours (40-hour week)
- On site 5 days per week due to high security
Security Clearance:
- Have or ability to obtain at least a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance before commencing work.
