System Administrator Build Specialist

Talent International is searching for an experienced System Administrator Build Specialist to join our client, a large government agency. This role is based in Brisbane CBD on a contract basis until June 2024

About the role:
The Systems Administrator Build Officer will be part of a multifunctional team within the Vendor Delivery Team with oversight from the Infrastructure Build Group. The role will be focused on implementing and upgrading critical systems from windows server 2022.

Key Accountabilities & Skill Set:

  • Building, provisioning and maintenance of a diverse range of enterprise class server, SAN, virtualisation and Data Centre infrastructure
  • Lead the analysis and timely resolution of system issues within a complex ICT environment
  • Manage the implementation of processes and procedures, tools and techniques for designing, monitoring, managing and reporting on the performance and availability of ICT systems and services

Criteria for Success:

  • Extensive experience with infrastructure build automation, configuration and implementing Microsoft Windows Server 2019 & 2022 in large enterprise environments including:
    • Server Build Automation & Orchestration
    • Windows scripting (PowerShell)
    • Microsoft Active Directory administration (DNS, Group Policy)
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2019 & 2022
    • Application deployment and configuration
  • Experience with Linux / Unix operating systems including
    • Server Build Automation & Orchestration
    • Shell Scripting
    • Application deployment and configuration
  • Docker Containers & Kubernetes Orchestration
  • Experience with deployment and build automation tools.
    • Azure DevOps Pipelines
    • Ansible, Terraform
    • Deployment Process Automation
    • ProGet Package Management
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages
    • SQL and TSQL
    • Perl, Python, PhP
    • PowerShell, Linux Shell scripting
  • Enterprise ICT experience including
    • Working in agile / Scrum teams
    • ITIL and ICT governance processes
    • Experience with Azure DevOps or JIRA
