Student Accessibility & Support Advisor

We are seeking a passionate Student Accessibility & Support Advisor to support inclusive, accessible, and empowering learning experiences for students across a large vocational education environment.

In this role you will provide specialist advice, case coordination, and accessibility support for students with diverse learning and support needs.

Key responsibilities include

  • Conducting student needs assessments and developing Learning Access Plans (LAPs)
  • Recommending and coordinating reasonable adjustments and accessibility supports
  • Supporting students through case management, advocacy, and referral pathways
  • Liaising with teachers, wellbeing teams, NDIS providers, and community agencies
  • Supporting the implementation of assistive technologies and inclusive learning practices
  • Coordinating accessibility support services where required
  • Providing expert advice to educators regarding disability inclusion and adjustments
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant student records
  • Contributing to staff capability building in inclusive and neuroaffirming practice

Skills and experience

  • Experience in disability support, case management, learning access planning, or educational adjustments
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Disability Standards for Education 2005 and Disability Discrimination Act 1992
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience supporting people with mental health, neurodivergence, chronic illness, or psychosocial support needs
  • The ability to assess functional impacts and recommend practical, student-centred adjustments
  • Experience working with NDIS and external support providers – desirable
