Our client is a highly reputable Australian Higher Education Institution located within Sydney’s CBD.
About the Role
As the Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across multiple categories of research equipment and services, for medium-large value and high complexity projects. You will be required to negotiate best value outcomes and ensure the contract instruments deliver against all negotiated outcomes and KPIs. Tasks include (but not limited to):
- Working with the Category Manager to develop, communicate and implement company wide procurement and sourcing strategies
- Supporting the Associate Director with strategic sourcing, category management and sourcing portfolio strategies
- Overseeing various sourcing activities including documenting requirements, developing strategies and engagement documents, issuing RFx requests, managing responses, evaluating options, making recommendations, and preparing the necessary documentation for each stage of the sourcing process
- Ensuring contracts are appropriately drafted
Requirements
- 5 + years’ experience in procurement
- Significant experience developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies
- Experience managing procurement projects from end-to-end
- Experience managing procurement for scientific/medical research equipment, teaching equipment, medical devices, medical consumables or similar is essential
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Must have full Australian working rights

Terms
- 12 month initial fixed-term contract with potential to extend or convert to perm
- Start ASAP (our client can wait up to a maximum of 4 weeks for the right candidate to give notice to their employer)
- Hybrid working model – Must be able to go into Sydney office 5 days occasionally as needed and 2-3 days per week on a regular basis
- Paying up to a maximum of $170K package inclusive of super
- Must have full Australian working rights to be considered
