About the role
Senior technical skills to assist in analysis and oversight of its expanded program scope items, for example inclusion of a Finance sub ledger function, fulfillment of security requirements, a Reporting solution, providing general technical and architecture assistance across a range of activities including analysis papers, technical document review, information, application, integration, and infrastructure modelling.
Key Responsibilities:
The key objective of the Technical Consultant role is to ensure architectural and technical integrity of the SDT Program and its projects. As the Technical Consultant, you will have responsibility for the following:
- Leading complex solution architecture activities, such as service design, high level reviews of the implementation, data migration planning and implementation, planning for operational support, and identifying and coordinating the resolution of technical problems impacting the Program
- Ensuring the deliverables and outcomes of each project within the Program contribute to the overall solution design, resolving conflicts when they arise and escalating risks, dependencies and constraints to the Project Managers, Program Manager and Program Solution Architect
- Working with the Program Architect and technical specialists to ensure the Program’s end-to-end solution (including customer-facing channels, employee user interfaces, application configuration, integration and interfaces, data sources and datasets, information security, communications and cloud services) aligns with the Queensland Government’s Enterprise Architecture (QGEA) policy framework, digital principles and the Target State Enterprise Architecture
- Preparing and presenting solution architecture documentation for review by Strategic Technical Architecture Group to validate the Program’s approach to achieving the short-term and long-term objectives of the platform
- Providing solution architecture leadership and expert advice to the Program, its projects, the business units and senior management, in particular related existing information systems and transitioning to the new Appian platform/applications
- Maintaining alignment with ICTS operational requirements, particularly around data governance, integration, change and release management, and transitioning to support
- Representing the client’s interests regarding solution design and delivery and data migration with internal and external partners and service providers, such as the implementation and support partners of each impacted service
Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), with preference for certification, will be well regarded
- Breadth of experience across all architecture domains
- Experience with modelling languages, including ArchiMate and UML
- Experience working with Software as a Service (SaaS) and/or Platform as a Service (PaaS)
- Experience with financial systems, in particular sub ledger payment systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
