This government agency is a service provider, responsible for providing and funding a range of support services to thousands of individuals across Australia. With multiple locations across Canberra, and nationwide, the organisation seeks only the most skilled and professional individuals to assist them in developing programs, policies and initiatives that will improve the quality of life for vulnerable Australians.

The Role

This Program Manager role offers the opportunity to drive complex, high-impact initiatives that improve service delivery and strengthen organisational integrity. You’ll lead cross-functional teams, embed agile ways of working, and ensure delivery aligns with strategic priorities and government milestones.

Your duties will include:

  • Translating program goals and vision into a clear roadmap, backlog and delivery schedule
  • Leading the end-to-end delivery of multiple cross-functional projects in an agile environment
  • Managing schedules, resources, risks, dependencies and issues to keep delivery on track
  • Establishing and maintaining program and project backlogs, and planning increments and iterations
  • Monitoring program health, reporting on progress and performance, and driving corrective actions
  • Facilitating agile ceremonies (PI planning, sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) and ensuring strong stakeholder engagement

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing large programs and cross-functional projects, ideally within government or complex environments
  • Extensive hands-on experience applying agile methodologies (iterative delivery, feedback loops, continuous improvement)
  • Strong understanding of integrity challenges and opportunities, and ability to translate these into actionable, measurable program outcomes
  • Highly developed communication, collaboration and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior leaders and diverse stakeholder groups
  • Proven experience leading delivery across business areas, enabling services, technology teams and external stakeholders
  • Relevant Program/Project Management qualifications and/or experience working in multi-cloud and digital transformation environments (highly regarded)
