
Network Technician | Defence
- 6 month initial contract with strong potential to extend
- Previous Defence experience & NV1 clearance (or higher) is essential in order to be considered

About the Role
The Network Technician will be responsible for supporting the delivery of training, governance, ICT Verification & Validation, and on-site operational support. Day to day duties include:
- In-house ICT training and mentorship to juniors/new starters
- Assisting with the appropriate policy and governance overheads associated with the fleet of ICT
- Managing sustainment of trial ICT capabilities
- Facilitating fleet and after sales support from third party suppliers
- Coordinating training delivery, sustainment establishment and fleet management activities
- Management of controlled cryptographic material to enable usage of ICT fleet, and coordinating technical maintenance of ICT fleet to enable required availability
Requirements
- At least 4 + years’ experience in network support
- 4 + years’ experience with hardware platforms
- Proven experience in testing and commissioning
- Significant experience delivering training
- NV1 clearance or higher is essential to be considered for the role
- CCNA and Microsoft Official Curriculum (MOC) certifications
- Relevant defence industry experience is essential
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships
Additional desirable experience:
– Awareness of Defence technical regulatory requirements/environment
– Cryptographic security
– Radio frequency fundamentals
– Network information assurance & configuration management
– Basic electronics and satellite systems
Terms
- Contract position starting ASAP and running through to June 30th (highly likely to extend)
- Must be based in Williamtown, NSW
- Paying market rates (commensurate with skills and experience)
- NV1 clearance is essential
