Talent International is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Business Partner to work for a Local Government client based in Oran Park. This is Temporary Full Time up to 6 months. The role is paying $1,731.76 – 1,984.91 pw + super.

7 hours per day / 35 hours per week

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Human Resources:

  • Deliver high-quality, proactive, and strategic HR services to the client.
  • Provide assistance and advice on client’s performance review system to managers, supervisors, and staff.
  • Assist in managing and administering performance review documentation and provide training on the Performance Management System.
  • Support managers and supervisors in developing and reviewing position descriptions and administer client’s job evaluation system.
  • Implement benchmarking and tracking systems for salary relativities and review client’s policies and procedures.
  • Review and report on client’s employment profile, including analytics and statistics.
  • Provide advice on Industrial Relations matters and manage workplace investigations as required.
  • Offer guidance on organizational restructures and provide backup support for Workers Compensation and Health and Wellbeing functions.
  • Present at the Staff Consultative Committee as needed.

Recruitment & Selection:

  • Provide timely assistance and advice on recruitment issues to supervisors.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the employment process, including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, and reference checks.
  • Ensure recruitment process compliance with relevant legislation and conduct first-day employee inductions.
  • Develop and implement recruitment and selection training and maintain accurate recruitment records.
  • Research options to promote client as an Employer of Choice and coordinate/participate in careers and employment expos.
  • Ensure legislative compliance with working with children legislation and organise pre-employment medicals.

Business Partnership:

  • Engage in partnership methodology to deliver strategic HR services and consult with subject matter experts within the team.
  • Utilise available resources, including reporting and analytics, to engage in evidence-based HR practices.
  • Provide assistance to other functional areas of the Employee Services Branch and represent client in network groups.

Strategy, Innovation, and Continuous Improvement:

  • Undertake projects identified through the client’s Workforce Plan and contribute as an effective team member.
  • Maintain systems to manage information and documentation and proactively communicate service and status information.
  • Evaluate, research, and recommend administrative systems, procedures, and process standards for maximum effectiveness.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and act in accordance with client’s Fraud and Corruption Prevention Policy.

Essential

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply industrial awards, employment legislation, policies and procedures to delivery of Human Resources services.
  • Extensive experience in the delivery of recruitment and selection services including the ability to consult and develop recruitment strategies.
  • Proven ability to contribute towards the development and implementation of HR programs and initiatives to meet the needs of the organisation.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, both written and oral and the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to resolve complex issues through investigation, negotiation and the application of sound judgement.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity and confidentiality at all times.

Desirable

  • Ability to provide generalist support in other functional areas such as industrial relations and learning and development.
  • Experience delivering training to both individuals and small groups.
  • Experience in Local Government.
