Our client is searching for an experienced consultant to work with one of their key defence clients as an HCI Specialist (Infrastructure) on a critical program. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a Modernisation project, contributing to the cyber-hardened, integrated, and sustainable mission systems.
Key Responsibilities:
As an HCI Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the team, responsible for a range of duties to enhance and support their infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
– Designing, building, and supporting VMWare and Nutanix Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI).
– Managing and patching Microsoft OS and product-based Enterprise systems.
– Integrating complex ICT infrastructure software and applications.
– Analyzing, logging, tracking, and resolving complex issues related to Windows servers and integrated applications.
– Assisting with defect remediation in development and build processes.
– Developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts.
– Creating and participating in peer reviews of Standard Operating Procedure documentation (SOPs), build guides, and related materials.
– Collaborating closely with Test, Engineering, and Support teams.
Required Skills and Experience:
– Demonstrated experience as a Nutanix HCI Infrastructure Specialist in a Defense context.
– Proficiency in operating system patching and application deployment.
– Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
– Strong knowledge of VMWare, Microsoft WDS, WSSUS, and Microsoft Active Directory.
– Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
– Experience with Defence Deployed systems.
– Knowledge of ITIL best practices and ISO Quality Standards.
Key details:
- Monday to Friday business hours (40-hour week)
- On site 5 days per week due to high security
Security Clearance:
- Have or ability to obtain at least a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance before commencing work.
