EL2 Cyber Security Architect

Our client is a federal government organisation with offices throughout Australia. Due to growth, they are seeking an 2 x EL2 Cyber Security Architect to join their team in their Richmond or Geelong office. This will be a 12-month initial contract with further extensions, 7.5 hour day, with a hybrid work arrangement.

The EL2 Cyber Security Architect is accountable under broad direction to undertake work with a high level of complexity and/or sensitivity that delivers quality outcomes across the ICT support service functions of the client.
This position has a focus on Cyber Security across several capabilities including:

  • identity and access.
  • cyber security operations.
  • data storage and analytics.
  • payment and debt management.
  • public facing systems where 3rd parties interact with the clients including API Gateway.
  • fraud and case management.

The position is an important, senior Architectural position within the client. The EL2 Cyber Security Architect will provide cyber security architecture design and advice across one or more of the above-mentioned capabilities.

About the role:

  • need to resolve complex IT related issues and risks across wide-ranging activities of substantial depth involving significant detail.
  • have experience and in-depth knowledge across cyber security architecture and industry best practice:
    • developing a future roadmap for the ongoing uplift of an API Gateway.
    • cyber security architecture with a focus on SIEM capabilities.
    • developing a Cyber Security roadmap with a focus on being Essential 8 compliant.
    • demonstrated skills and experience across all architecture domains (i.e. business, information, security, data, technology, integration, and application).
  • develop and participate in the implementation of initiatives focused on the reduction of technology risk, governance and compliance to policies and regulatory compliance.
  • develop IT security standards, policy, procedures, and controls for managing risks.
  • support various business areas by ensuring stakeholders adequately address all relevant compliance standards such as the PSPF, ISM, Agency Risk Management Frameworks and incident management disciplines
  • have demonstrated experience as a cyber security architect using Microsoft products and platforms.
  • have high level of communication skills, demonstrating an ability to communicate at the technical, business and personal levels.
  • have experience with digital transformations.
  • initiate, establish and maintain strong relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • tertiary qualifications in an ICT related field or applicable industry certifications.

Essential criteria

  1. Minimum of five years’ experience with Australian Government governance concepts with a focus on ICT, policy/standards development, documentation of frameworks, and assisting in the reporting to Senior Executive.
  2. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  3. Ability to mentor and provide expertise within a team environment and engage with internal/external stakeholders confidently.

You will need the ability to obtain / maintain a NV1 Security clearance is required for this role.
