
Civil / Structural Engineer
- Initial 12 month contract (high likelihood of extension)
- $110 per hour
- Wollongong location
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer/Lead Engineer with a Civil/Structural engineering background to join our client’s team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the successful engineering completion of assigned work packages, contributing to significant infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out engineering and design activities
- Complete engineering investigations, inspections, and analysis of equipment and infrastructure
- Manage, review, analyse, and deliver external engineering consultant contracts and packages of work to scope, budget, and schedule.
- Prioritize works to meet project schedules and deadlines
- Provide technical support to the construction team, including guidance on installation, response to RFIs, and confirmation of site validation techniques
- Contribute to the development of technical specifications, tenders, and contract packages
- Maintain good communication and relationships with project team members
- Ensure that engineering and design work incorporates an adequate level of definition and milestones
- Actively participate in HSE document reviews & workshops, such as HAZOP, PPA, SIL, CHAIR, etc
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary Engineering qualification (minimum Bachelor degree) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience managing the engineering aspects of capital projects
- Experience with engineering design of large infrastructure projects.
- Experience in a heavy industrial environment or large infrastructure project experience is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of Australian/International Standards related to Civil/Structural design.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Space Gass, Ansys, etc.).
- Proven ability to engineer and deliver engineering packages through engineering management.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
