Our client is searching for an experienced consultant to work with one of their key defence clients as an Automation Technician on a critical program. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a Modernisation project, contributing to the cyber-hardened, integrated, and sustainable mission systems.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Automation Technician, you will play a vital role in our team, focusing on the development, implementation, and maintenance of automation routines across complex ICT infrastructure software and applications. Your responsibilities will include:

– Developing, building, implementing, and maintaining automation routines.

– Analyzing, logging, tracking, and resolving complex issues related to automated test scripts.

– Identifying and assessing technical risks, collaborating with project stakeholders to provide mitigation options.

– Creating and conducting peer reviews of Standard Operating Procedure documentation (SOPs), build guides, and related materials.

Required Skills and Experience:

– Demonstrated experience as an Automation Technician in a Defence context.

– Proficiency in Automation and Orchestration technologies and services, including Ansible and GITlab.

– Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, SQL, IaC, yaml, pwsh, and python.

– Ability to translate customer requirements, standards, and frameworks into practical solutions.

– Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with experience in presenting and engaging with stakeholders, projects, and business areas.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

– Knowledge and experience with the SEA2273 Minerva systems.

– Ability to rapidly build, automate, and deliver proof-of-concept systems to support analysis, testing, accreditation, and development.

– Experience with governance frameworks related to infrastructure service and security delivery, including required subsystems like the Australia Information Security Manual (ISM).

  • Monday to Friday business hours (40-hour week)
  • On site 5 days per week due to high security

Security Clearance:

  • Have or ability to obtain at least a Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) security clearance before commencing work.
