The opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for multiple Procurement Officers to join the Procurement & Corporate Services team in assisting with partnering with the business areas to procure goods and services, and ensure value for money outcomes.
- 12 month initial contract with likely ongoing extensions
- APS 5 level role offering an hourly rate of $55.24 + Superannuation
- Office located in Geelong, with 2 days per week work from home
About the role
As a Procurement Officer, you will be accountable for organising workflow, and making independent decisions relating to procurement and contacts management. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing level administrative support to the Procurement team, managing confidential and sensitive information
- Providing procurement advice and support to the broader Agency
- Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and Guidelines, Agency Procurement Policy and procedures
- Assisting with tracking value for money based outcomes and preparing reports against KPIs
- Preparing a range of procurement related documentation
- Drafting correspondence and reports, including emails and letters
- Entering, extracting and manipulating data to enable accurate Agency reporting
- Contributing to team and branch planning activities including identifying opportunities for improvements
About you
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience in procurement or contract management, preferably in a Government Agency including federal or state government
- Basic level of understanding of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR’s)
- Some knowledge of or exposure to the fields of either ICT or construction
- SAP experience or similar relevant experiences in administrative processing through financial management systems
- Ability to understand and apply company policies & procedures
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong written & verbal communication
