Security & Risk

The significant rise in the incidence of cyber-attacks and cyber-crime had led to a shortage in the availability of skilled cyber security professionals globally. As a result organisations are finding it increasingly difficult to find and hire cyber security professionals to design and implement their cyber security defences.

Job vacancies for cyber security professionals are projected to grow at a rate of 6% per annum for the next 5 years ( Source: IBISWorld, December 2016).

Use of traditional recruitment methodologies have become far less effective in identifying and attracting the top performing Security professionals required by organisations to delivered a multi-layered cyber security strategy.

In this market, the most qualified professionals are highly sort after and as a result usually fully employed in permanent positions, or as contractors.

In these market conditions in order to identify and attract high performing professionals requires extensive industry domain knowledge and a cyber security professionals contact network, that come from a background experience of actually working in the security industry.

As part of Talent’s continued focus on our clients’ specialist cyber security requirements we have launched a dedicated Cyber Security Practice in Australia and New Zealand.

Why Talent – A Case Study

Talent has partnered for over 10 years with a multinational technology and consulting corporation.  We were originally engaged by the organisation to ensure resources were in place to implement a number of large SAP projects across 7 countries.  This required a centralised and coordinated process, so that the projects could be run simultaneously.  With over 80 contractors required, the resource process was managed in close partnership with the clients Program Managers to ensure the contractors were ready when they were needed and armed with the right skills set and the right attitude.

A streamlined and global process was the main focus for the team at Talent, with this in mind; we designed and implemented a simplified, online system for management of resources which included contractor approval and time-sheet management.  The system allowed us to maintain consistent flow of knowledge, resources and payment information and ensured that all stakeholders – client, contractor and consultant – were engaged at all stages of the process.
