About the Role:
This Procurement Business Partnering team work with ICT, and Partners, Providers and Home and Living business areas to source good and services in accordance with the NDIA Procurement Policy and relevant legislation.

The EL1 Procurement (Labour Hire) will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the procurement and contract management functions. The position requires exercising sound decision-making and judgement to produce high level policy advice and operational support.

Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Consulting and collaborating with internal stakeholders and business areas, providing a combined education and business intelligence function to identify upcoming issues that require action, further advice or forward planning.
  • Working collaboratively with NDIA business areas as a procurement business partner, and managing a team to develop market approach documentation, evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts.
  • Leading an integrated approach to identifying procurement requirements early in the process, including supporting the planning activities within the wider team.
  • Ensuring NDIA procurement activities are conducted in line with legislative requirements, the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the NDIA Procurement Policy.
  • Delivering support and advice in relation to compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules the NDIA Procurement Framework, and Agency policies and procedures.
  • Managing regular policy and process reviews for continuous business improvement in order to benefit the business clients and improving procurement business partnership.
  • Ensuring NDIA corporate contracts are managed effectively and deliver value for money outcomes.

Skills and Experience
Key skills required for role/s:

  • Demonstrated procurement experience and knowledge in federal or state government.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team.

Desirable skills to have for the role

  • Relevant qualification in Commonwealth Procurement

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
