On Friday 30 September, Talent International UK celebrated its first AGM. The UK arm of the Talent International Group has come a very long way in 3 years, with growth figures placing them as the fastest growing Recruitment company in the UK.

Commenting on the incredible growth of Talent, EMEA CEO, Jon Butterfield said: “Our UK and Germany offices have experienced an exceptional year of growth and are performing well ahead of expectations. This year, we’ve set the bar extremely high but I’ve got no doubt that, with the additional investment into Learning and Development and our unique consultative approach to helping our clients, we can exceed expectations again next year.”

The team celebrated their success at the newly built Park Regis Hotel in Birmingham City centre. The day included the announcement of a new careers strategy to assist consultants looking to progress their career through various promotion gateways and defined career paths; an announcement well received by the team.

Stevie Heslop has worked for Talent for 3 months and is really looking forward to building her career with Talent. “I’ve really enjoyed my first few months at Talent and bringing everyone together today has been amazing. The new people strategy shows that Talent really wants to invest in its people and help them grow their careers and stay with Talent. I’m looking forward to learning lots over the next year and hopefully advancing my career,” she said.

Talent also invited award winning guest speaker and corporate communications expert Nigel Risner to the event to discuss ‘new rules for better communication’. It was a fun, interactive and superbly executed speech which ended with everyone receiving a signed copy of Nigel’s book – ‘It’s a zoo around here’.

Some of Talent UK’s best performers were also invited on stage to discuss their individual approach to recruitment. Winner of ‘Best Newcomer’ Maddie Owen was one of the consultants to take to the stage.

During her Q&A, Maddie noted how becoming a specialist in her market and valuing relationships has become key to her success: “The industry has built a really bad reputation based on really poor communication over many years. I actually really enjoy speaking with my clients and candidates on a regular basis and building genuine relationships and even though not everyone is successful during a recruitment process, everyone values feedback and taking the time to give feedback, good or bad – it all helps build trust and sets us apart,” she said.

As part of the presentation, the team at Talent were asked to sum up what Talent meant to them in one word – here’s what they think:

The day ended with a pizza making party at Pizza Express and lots of celebrating throughout Birmingham City centre. Congratulations to the Talent UK team and here’s to another 12 months of success built through adding real value for our clients.
