Off the back of the highly-successful Talent Unleashed Awards, global IT&T recruitment services specialist Talent International reinforces its position as an ally and supporter of the technology start-up sector by announcing it will offer complementary recruitment services to the Awards finalists.
The Talent Unleashed Awards were launched in 2013 to showcase technology entrepreneurs and their change-making ideas. The 2014 Awards were bigger than ever, encompassing all of the Asia Pacific and the UK where Talent International has a presence; entries and nominations totalled more than 750. The seven winners each received an all-expense paid trip to South Africa to spend a week at the Branson Centre for Entrepreneurship.
Recognising the lack of support globally for the start-up sector, Talent Founder and Managing Director Richard Earl said “the recruitment sector has failed to really understand and support the start-up scene. Having spoken extensively with many start-ups around the Asia Pacific and in the UK over the past year, it’s clear that the lack of support has been felt keenly and has detrimental effects on potential for growth for these promising companies.”
As an entrepreneurial business, Talent has a passion for supporting the sector by helping to build and develop a start-ups’ greatest asset – its people. The nature of start-up companies can mean that just one bad hire can bring the business to its knees. Understanding that, Talent is stepping in to ensure that doesn’t happy by providing AUD $100kworth of recruitment services to the 30 finalists of the Talent Unleashed Awards across the Asia Pacific and the UK.
Talent are also providing mentorship, support and advice locally as well as facilitating connections to the broader global community to the Awards finalists.
Founder and Managing Director of Talent International Richard Earl said “it’s critical that the individuals who are making a positive impact in the technology start-up sector around the globe are supported. We see the Talent Unleashed Awards becoming a significant part of our business and we plan to increase our involvement and support by lifting the profile and coverage of the amazing people in the sector and their ideas; working with change-makers such as Sir Richard Branson and Steve Wozniak, developing partnerships with others and further building our reputation as a true partner of the global tech start-up scene.”
